I started to write it once and I had some computer problems (I know, it's probably ironic, me having computer problems. But it does happen) I've got one written now, though it's probably diffrent then what I would have written a couple of days ago. I will also apologize for the length, and the seriousness. It's once again approaching Joshian lengths, and I haven't had a purley fun post in a while. But with out further ado, here is your update on the world that is Scott.

Well I'm sure some of you know that I've not been all that happy at work as of late. If you've never worked for the government it's hard to describe. It's defiantly not anything like working in the “real world”. In my chain of command there is my supervisor, the section head, then the branch head. Or at least that's basically the way it's supposed to work. Now my supervisor, and the branch head are both military, and both change semi-regularly. As most of you who read this probably already know I do not get a long with my new supervisor at all. We've been butting heads since his first day here. And our current branch head, though I hear he is 28, acts like he's 17. He's supposed to be in charge of around 50 people, though you would never guess it from the way he acts.

This being the government there is a lot of political BS that goes on, and I'm getting tired of it. Combine that with not liking some of the people I work with, and most of the management that I have to deal with and you get a Scott who's not liking his job to much. Those aren't the only factors though. Last year in faithworks I started to receive some revelation on some God things that I am fully convinced are in my future. I don't yet know how that's going to manifest it's self, but even that has started to clarify a bit in the last 6 months. I am not willing to just walk away from this job though. Up until recently I've enjoyed it, and the money is good. Better then anywhere else in Medicine Hat I could be working doing what I do.

I believe the first step is for me to find someone to train up in Satellite to take over for me. Once that is done I will be able to step down, thus freeing up 2 nights a week for me to begin working on other things. Or more likely for the first bit to relax a little, and maybe get more of a social life. Maybe work on that finding a GF thing I should get around to some time soon. But in the end I need to start taking some steps forward. As Pastor Al was preaching about this week, if you don't step out of the boat then you'll never walk on the water. So here's to Scott trying to make some fairly major life changes, and starting to do a little stepping out of the boat.

I would also like to just give a shout out to all the great people that I call friends, new and old. Your all great, and I'm glad of having met all of you.

Peace and God Bless
SJ

Not sure what to call it

Well I've been told I need to write a new blog, and I've been thinking I should just not known what to write about. Still not sure what I'm going to write about, but I might start with a bit of an update on the crazy that is Scott, and see were it goes from there.

I'm not really sure were to start, but probably with my nephew Dylan. Most of you don't know him, or know much about him, but he has been having some problems the last week or so. He has a shunt in his head that prevents or relieves pressure that builds up in his head. He has had problems with it in the past and has had brain surgery a number of times to have it repaired or replaced. The week before last he went into the hospital because of pain and pressure and it was decided that they would have to operate again, so he my mom and sister took him to Calgary Wednesday or Thursday of the week before last. Mom ended coming home early because she was having chest pains, and problems breathing. Around Friday she went to Emergency to get it checked out, she was basically told that the pain is because of the problems with her back (A whole other story that involves 20+ year old injuries, botched surgery, and crooked doctors). They ran a couple of tests and then basically told her she has to live with it. The pain get getting worse, and it wasn't like the pain she normally has from her back problems, or her rheumatic arthritis, so she went to emergency again. This time they told her it might be her gallbladder and sent her for an ultrasound, and then sent her home. That didn't turn anything up, and the paint continued to worsen. Monday I think it was she went into emerg for the 3rd time and told them that she wasn't leaving the hospital until they told her what was wrong with her. A different doctor happened to be on that night and he ordered a bunch of tests that were different then the other guy had run. These ones included chest xrays and a few others things. Which found that she has multiple clots in her lungs. I don't think they ever told her how many and if it's both lungs or just one, but she was admitted to the hospital Tuesday last week. For those who have seen me around town at weird times that why. I told work I was taking the rest of the week off so that I could visit mom, and help dad out with the 4 kids. For the most part she has been not to bad all things considered (Dad read that there is something like a 20% fatality rate for people who this happens to) Yesterday (Monday) they decided that she could be handled just as well as an out patient, and that she might be more comfortable at home so they released her. She gets more tests done Wednesday, and a visit to the doc on Friday to find out what's going on. Combine that with a general lack of sleep, and the other more mundane stresses that go with being a member of the human race and I've been a bit mentally fatigued the last little bit. I haven't talked about it a whole bunch because I'm not looking for a pity party, or a bunch of sympathy. Obviously I won't say no to prayer, but everyone has there problems and I'm not going to let mine rule my life. I'm still going to have fun with my friends, I'm still going to be there for any of them who need me. And I'm certainly not going to back down from the plans God has for me.

One of the things that I grabbed ahold of the last couple of days listening to Ferg speak was the power of God. Not just the power of God, but that the power of God is on ME. I don't know how it's going to manifest yet, but I was given some limited vision of Gods plans for me in faithworks last year and I think it's time to start taking some steps towards that. It's not time to let the challenges before me stop me, might be time to gear down as Pastor Al would say in order to gain more power for the uphill clime. It's not time to be timid, or afraid. "For God did not give us a spirit of timidity (of cowardice, of craven and cringing and fawning fear), but [He has given us a spirit] of power and of love and of calm and well-balanced mind and discipline and self-control." As much as I talk, and as aggressive as I've been feeling I'm not a violent individual, but my destiny, and the destiny of my friends, family, and even the destiny of those strangers would would be called my neighbours is worth fighting for.

Maybe it's late and I'm tired, maybe I had some good thoughts but need to get some God thoughts. But this is how I'm feeling, and this is what I want to strive for. So don't feel sad for me, or pity me and my family. Take heart that my mom can still joke with me about the games she plays online, or that she is still giving me a hard time for not having fixed her friends computer yet. And please, feel free to give me a kick in the ass if you think I need it. Cause I know I need it some times, and I promise I won't punch you in the face, not unless I can prove you kicked me for no good reason :P

But it's time for me to bring this post to a close as I am quickly approaching Joshian lengths

Peace and God Bless
SJ

Tattoos, Hand Guns, and Scott going over the edge

Well I decided to write another blog, this one having nothing to do with animation, or rendering, or any of that stuff.

Now regardless of what the title says I'm not actually going over the edge. However, I think there are some people who think I might be, or at least think I'm close. I'm going to try and explain a bit, were I don't think I've done such a great job.

I'm not totally sure were to start, so I will talk about the first part of the title. As I'm sure most you know I want to buy a gun. And as most of you also know I also want to get my tattoo finished. Currently I don't think I'll be able to afford both. So, I've been thinking that maybe I would postpone my tattoo completion in favor of buying a gun. This actually may tie into the rest of the blog in that me wanting a gun may be part of what has some people worried about me.

Now, not that I don't appreciate the fact that I have friends who care enough to worry, I don't think me becoming violent unnecessarily is something anyone has to worry about. It's true I'm aggressive You can talk to Ed or Ian. I've been like this a pretty long time. I don't think how ever that I've ever been a particularly violent individual. I am of the opinion how ever that violence/aggression is some times the only option to resolve a situation.

Now I need to regress a bit as I'm starting to ramble and loose my train of thought. The idea for this blog started a day or two ago while I was chatting with Connie, and I made a concerted effort to explain to her my feelings of wanting to punch someone in the face. And to be honest with you, that's not it at all really. Saying I want to punch someone in the face is more of just a joking way of explaining that I'm feeling aggressive I don't think I've ever actually hit anyone in the face. Been in a couple of scraps, but none of them were that bad. But I'm digressing again. Now I don't want to over spiritualize things, but I am positive that a lot of what I'm feeling is in the spirit realm. There is so much apathy and other crap on the Nation of Canada that it makes me sick some days. While at the same time I let that get all over my own life. This also pisses me off. Combine all of that with a naturally aggressive personality (I'm a man, I like danger, and adventure, all that other good stuff), the stresses of every day life, and a few other factors, and you end up with a Scott that wants to punch something or someone in the face.

I'm hoping this helps to alleviate some worry, or maybe it just causes more, but either way I hope it brings some incite into the life that is Scott.

Peace and God bless

SJ

Geek

Well it's time for some of the geek in my to come out in my semi frequent "art" I started working on a new render/animation. This time i'm going to be doing a light saber. I have the basic handle done which you can see below. I need to finish coloring/texturing it, then figure out how to add the blade. Once I have that part done I am going to try and do an animation of the saber lighting like in the movie. These ones though are very plane, and very basic. It just so happens that I created them my self, and they are infact 2d renders of 3d images I created with a kewl program called blender. It's almost professional quality, is completly free and is available for Windows, Linux, and Mac OS. You can find it at www.blender.org

All of these are things that the tutorial i'm going through had me create. The tutorial is a wiki how, and they link to it from the documentation section of blender.org.

So here ya go, new post, and my kewl graphics all at once. :)

Peace
SJ

Cause

Don't actually have anything to say, but I was tired of looking at my old blog.

So here's some random pictures I found online that I thought were cool.
<img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; Meh. That's about how I've felt the last couple of weeks. About blogging, work, socializing, life in general. Not sure why, but it's why I haven't written a new blog before now, or really read/posted on anyone else's. I wouldn't say I'm depressed, but I am feeling kind of antisocial to a degree.

Not to much is going on to write about. I've started watching season 1 of Deadwood, and NCIS. There both cool shows, though Deadwood is pretty crude, and because it's HBO there is no censoring, there's cursing, and some occasional nudity. Okay there is a LOT of cursing. But it's still a good show. NCIS is like CSI except with army people. The NCIS agents aren't army, but they investigate Naval/Army type crimes. Also still watching 24 with Mel. I'm excited to get to watch a couple of episodes soon. Found a couple of nifty games online made by this guy so I'm going to post a link to his webpage. You should really check it out. The best ones are grow cube, and grow v3. http://www.eyezmaze.com/

http://www.foon.co.uk/farcade/hapland/ links to a game called hapland. It's a quirky, brain messer upper of a game. I've beaten the first one, but no were near getting through the second, and haven't looked at the third yet. I don't know if I have his email anymore, but Joel would probably dig these games so someone should send them to him for me. Or just tell him to read my blog this once.

But I'm at work so I should get back to it (needed a short break from all the urgent get me done right now work orders I've been working on for the last couple of weeks)

Peace
SJ

Whine, whine, whine

Well Josh wanted me to post a new blog, and we all know how he can get when he doesn't get his way :)

I still don't have anything to really right about. God's not to active in my life right now. Probably because of me, but that's okay. Things are winding down for me for the summer which will be nice. Get a bit of a break.

24 Season 4 is pretty good, though Mel and I agree that 3 was better. I won't give any break downs though, don't wanna ruin it for anyone who hasn't seen it yet. And I just noticed that my blog entry screen is acting kind of weird. When I press the the space bar it doesn't move my cursor over a space until I type an actual character. It's kind of freaken me out.

Milk? Color? I think I'm kind of partial to white. I thought purple at first since it's my favorite color, but I saw purple ketchup once and it made me want to vomit. So yah, white, not off white, not mother of pearl (Both of those would make me think of milk that comes from some were other then a cow. I know I'm sick, but you should all know that by now). Plain old pasteurized white.

I did just email a few people a link to a web page I got emailed to me. Its sorta spam, and I normally delete stuff like that but I am a movie junkie so I actually signed up. You get a bunch of bonuses for doing so. Not in the begging levels anyway. http://world.timesofconquest.com/index.pl is the URL

But that's long enough for a post I wasn't even going to write.

Peace
SJ

Random

Just some random stuff that's poped into my head after reading everyone elses blog.

Inspired by Dawns blog and Josh's post on it (the one with the picture of the little old lady):

I think in North America we need to have the scales removed from our eyes. I've said multiple times in the past that part of the problem with our nation is that our faith isn't challenged like it is in other countries. We are not faced with the choice of "Jesus and Death, or life"

But is that the case? Are we not actually faced with that decision every day? Sure no one is going to chop off our heads if we don't renounce christ. But does that mean the decisions we make every day aren't life and death? If we make the wrong ones doesn't it mean eternal death? It's hard to see though, it's hard to put into perspective something that doesn't have effect here and now.

I fully believe that North America (Or any 1st world nation with freedom of religion) has been a proving and refining ground for the enemy. In a lot of nations your faith is challenged directly with the aformentioned life and death choice. In North America we have freedome of religion, the right to choose if we want to serve Jesus, or Budha (though strictly speaking I don't think Budhism is an actual religion), or allah, or Bafomat, or who ever else we might choose. We also have a rampant apathy (Def. - Lack of interest or concern, especially regarding matters of general importance or appeal; indifference.) that has flooded our nation. People don't care, even people who care don't care. I say it all the time that Apathy is one of the things that angers me the most. I see it in our youth, in our adults, our companys, our friends. But I just can't seem to pry my self off my apthatetic ass (Pardon my language) to do anything about it. It's so easy for people to be couch warriors. Saying we'll go were God say, do what God says, and do both when he Says. Then sit on our couch waiting for the phone to ring. There's lots that needs to be done, and I don't think we need an audible word from God to go out and do it. But there on my couch I sit.

I'm starting to ramble so i'm going to end that particular verbal diareeha.

I had some other stuff I wanted to write about, but after that last bit i'm drawing a blank on what it was. So i'm going to stop writing (it's 10:39 so my break is over) and i'll come back to it at lunch and finish it up.

Well i'm on lunch now, and i'm eating triscuits with melted cheese, and it's good. But I still can't remeber what else I was going to write so i'm done for now.

Peace
SJ

I'm in trouble

Well as the title says, i'm in trouble.

Tonight is the last faithworks class for term 3 (there are only 3 terms in a year). I still haven't finished the assignment for term 2, and the term 3 assignment is due tonight. I'm only a quarter done reading the book that 66% of the assignment is based on. That's not the part i'm in trouble with. I'll have enough of the book finished in time to get the first 2 of 3 questions done. Here's were i'm in trouble though. The last question requires me to interview 10 people.

Here's were i'm hoping people will be willing to help me, and help me in a relative hurry :) Follows is the question(s) I need answers. If as many people as possible could answer before 7pm tonight that would be FANTASTIC and I would love you for ever.

"What does it mean to be "planted" in the house?" Guess that happens when you don't have internet at home.

The break dance comp was off the hook though. Anyone who's in the Hat and didn't go is CRAZY!!!!!! These guys, and a few girls, were nuts. I am still having a hard time wrapping my head around some of the crazy stuff they can do. I enjoyed it for sure. 12 bucks well spent.

They had a bunch of the breakers at church on Sunday to, and that was also crazy. Pastor Al didn't even get around to his sermon. We did worship, had the breakers up there for a good portion of it. Then Pastor Al prophecied over the breakers, and we did some more worship with dancing. And the DJ that did the comp was there to, and he got to do some free style.

It's almost break time to. Satellite is ending soon, as is faith works. And I think with Satellite ending for the summer that worship practice probably is to. So suddenly my Mon, Tues, Wednesday evenings is free again. I know C&C is wrapping up to, but I am hoping to be able to get to gether with some peeps Thursdays anyway.

Well that's about all I got for now.

Peace
SJ

Well Dawn wanted me to make another blog so here it is. And I actually have something to write about. A few things actually.

The first...well it looks like I'm going to be changing my travel plans for January-Febuary. It is looking a lot like I won't have nearly enough money to go to Australia. I'm okay with that though. I am already looking at making some alternate arrangments. I am definatly still taking the time off, and i'm definatly going some were outside of Alberta. What i'm thinking is that I am going to find a church, either in Canada or the US, and see if they would be willing to trade me room and board for a months worth of service. Be it with computers, youth, cleaning, what ever they would like me to be doing. Then my second month I am thinking of doing the same thing at the DC. Minus the room and board obviously. But just go there and serve for a month doing what they need me to do. Or possibly run some kind of computer ministry for a month. Let people bring in there computers to get fixed for free, or setup lan parties and such for people. I'm not sure on the details yet since I have until January to get it all strainted out. I need to do some praying and try and find out what God would like me to be doing with that time.

The other thing is really cool, at least I think so. I think i wrote about the test i took in a past Blog. The one that I was almost posative that I failed, and that everyone else failed to. Well I got an email at 2:20 yesterday afternoon that i didn't actually notice I had till 7:30 this morning. Well the email went something like this "As you passed the exam for the subject job competition we would like you to come in for an interview at 10:30am on Thursday May 18). I read it and was like WHAT!!! how the crap did i pass that test. I haven't seen the test, but i'm almost convinced that God went and finished it for me, because I do not understand how I could have passed. There was three of us who took it, and if I heard correctly 2 of us passed. Me and the military Guy. Supposidly the other guy didn't pass, but I don't know for sure. So yeah, praise God. If I get this job that will be so totaly amazing, and so totaly God and not me. But it is what i've been hoping/believing/praying for all year. A step up into networking, and network security is were I want to take my career, and this is likely the last opportunity, at least in this area, for 3-5 year if not longer. But this computer i'm on is done doing what it needs to do, so I should get back to the office and see what else needs doing.

Peace and God bless
SJ

Out of stuff to say

Well I felt like writing a new blog, but im really outa interesting stuff to say now that my tat is done. I'm booked in for August.

I'm not going to come right out and call people a liar....but it hurt. It might be me being a big wuss. But this was the most pain I have ever been in, in my life. 5 hours of intense pain. I think it looks awesome don't get me wrong. But WOW. Expecially the parts around the ankle. In a month I might not think it was that bad. Heck even now I don't think it was that bad. But during I wanted to punch someone in the mouth. :)

The weekend was great though. Got to chill out at the mall and shoot some guns, see Dawn, Ed. 6 hours each direction in a car with Mel, Nicole, and Josh. Had some good talks with Josh on the way back. Had a cool sunday to, it was Biker Sunday at Dawns church. They had the Christian Motorcycle Association there with some wicked bikes (I so want one)

You mighth ear a lot of this from the others so i'm going to keep it pretty brief. Well that and I spent almost all day Saturday on a table, and Saturday night I was so tired, and in pain, and loopy from the amount of blood that I lost that I was hardly coherant.

Well I'm going to jet for now. Don't hold back :)

Peace
SJ

Wow

Not sure what I was thinking, maybe cause last week was crazy, but I write a test tommorow.

It's a CS2 test. For those of you who don't work for the government I am a CS1 (Computer Services Level 1), so a CS2 would be a Computer Services Level 2. Now a level 2 makes around 10-12% more then I do, and WHAT they do is a lot more interesting, and brain stimulating then what I do.

Here's were the problem starts. I haven't studied, at all, until this morning. And what makes me more nervous is that i've written this test before, but by the fact that i'm still a CS1 you can guess I didn't do all that great. Well to be at least a little fair on my self I don't know if I did all that bad. But they mark tests weird here. They are broken into three diffrent knowledge catagories. You need to get 60% in each catagory in order to pass. And if you fail one catagory then they stop marking the test and you fail the whole thing. Well the last time I wrote there was a long answer question that was worth 18 marks. 18 Marks was enough to get less then 60% in the first section . This question had some math in it. I screwed up some math at the start which screwed up the rest and I got 0 on that question, which made me fail the first section. As such I don't even know how I did in the other two. So here I am, at work, trying to study, not even sure beyond that one question what I should be studying. Or even know if that same question will be on there. The government is required to change every question on the test if they run a test and someone who has written is writing again, so it's going to be diffrent. Just not sure how diffrent.

But I should get back to cramming, hopefully no emergency's start at work and I have to actually do some work today.

Peace
SJ

Crazy

I know this entry comes shortly after my first. Everyone else is doing it, and I feel left out so now I'm going to do it to.

Went to the Amanda Falk concert last night, and as I posted to the crazy tree people it was awesome.

I'm going to rant a little because I hear that's what people do on these things. People don't go to stuff in medicine hat. There are always people complaining about nothing coming here, and when it does they don't friggen go anyway. And it pisses me off. We had a Juno award winner come to medicine hat and there was less then a hundred people. Guess the hockey game that both the flames, and the oilers lost was more important.

But I'm done ranting for now.

Peace out.

SJ
